Hard to say: It's true that certain forms of arthritis are genetically passed in families. If you are having exactly the same low back pain symptoms as your father had at a young age & there's no other reason why this should be the case in you & if studies can be shown to be positive then, it's possible you may have a heretable form of problem. Again, your seeing a doctor for your symptoms should be Job 1.

Highly unlikely @ 19: Your Dad has wear and tear of the tissues in the body, which comes about in 40's (maybe), 50's (probably) and in 60's (most likely), from all the abuse we put our body through. At your age its very unlikely you have the same problem. You need to see you PCP to determine whether your backache is from the spine or other organs/tissues of your abdomen or back. Good Luck.
