A member asked:

If i have a negative d dimer, what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

D-dimer: D-dimer is tested in the blood when there is a concern for a blood clot. As blood clots in the body begin to breakdown, certain proteins are released, resulting in a positive D-Dimer test. A negative D-Dimer test is suggestive that a blood clot is not present.
