Varies: The piriformis is a muscle that inserts into the proximal hip and assists in hip movement. There are a variety of reasons it may be being aggravated. Doing a good warmup and stretch before dancing at help. A physical therapist can give you good exercises for it as well. If it does not improve, see a doctor to verify diagnosis and discuss treatment directly.
