Possibilities..: If she has not been treated for this, possibilities are: infection, although it is unusual that it lasts that long. The most common reason for persistent tearing and eye discharge in this age group is nasolacrimal duct obstruction which depends on how severe might need surgical intervention. If she has been itchy as well this could be related to allergies. Make an appointment with Ophthalmologist.
