Delayed onset of : puberty is diagnosed in boys who have no testicular enlargement by age 14. A pediatric endocrinologist has the proper equipment to measure testicular volume to determine whether or not there truly has been no increase in size. If needed, (s)he will order appropriate lab & X-ray studies after having done a thorough history & physical.
