A member asked:

Does morphine relieve anxiety?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Morphine can lower: anxiety, but using it for that would be like killing a house fly with a cannon. Better anxiolytics are Ativan, Xanax, (alprazolam) Valium; although all of these can also be addicting. Morphine can actually increase anxiety, especially if you have an allergy to it, or to its nor-metabolites. Why are you anxious?
