Kidney stones: NO!
Before making that decision your dad needs to collect urine for 24 hours and measure a number of chemicals in the urine such as calcium, sodium, oxalate, and a few other metabolites that vary among doctors. There are also blood values to collect.

Biology!: Hi. How about you get the reason for the stone DIAGNOSED before you put your Dad on calcium supplements?! Some stone forming states are made WORSE by calcium supplementation! Some aren't, but don't risk your Dad's health! No rush on calcium supplements!
