A member asked:

My father is 75 years old,his bp reading from 2weeks are 140/20 or 130/10 mm hg. what could be causing these results?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some ideas: Does he have aortic regurgitation? Does somebody have an idiosyncratic way of taking blood pressure, or imagine that an accurate diastolic pressure is the cessation of ALL sound, and perhaps he has a vascular sound unrelated to the Korotkoff sounds? I'll bet the latter.
