A member asked:

My daughter in law has policystic kidney disease in a advance stage. prognosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PKD: PKD is a progressive disease that can lead to end stage renal disease in most instances and will lead to chronic in all patients. It is unfortunate that there is no cure for PKD and the overwhelming majority will wind up with end stage renal disease. It is likely that she will need to start some type of dialysis, either hemo or peritoneal dialysis. Have her see a nephrologist for an answer.
