A member asked:

My dr prescribed 50 mg of losartan and 25 mg of hctz (hydrochlorothiazide). is this a normal combination?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very normal: Sure is. Like peanut butter and jelly. Peas and carrots. Hugs and kisses. That combination is effective, safe, and used very commonly because the losartan helps cancel a troublesome side effect of hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) (potassium wasting) and hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) potentiates the effect of losartan. Your dr is on the ball.
