My friend has osteosarcomas, is that a kind of cancer?

It is a rare cancer: It arises in bone, usually around the knee or shoulder in teenagers and young adults. It is treated with chemotherapy and surgery. Amputation is only rarely required. If caught before it spreads, it can often be cured.
