Possible, not likely: Unless you and your friend both painted radium paint onto watch dials or ingested high levels of strontium-90, it is very unlikely that you would share her cause of death.

Very unlikely: I am sorry for your loss. This type of cancer is not transmitted from person to person. Sometimes you can be at higher risk for osteosarcoma based on your family history, but most of the time it is just bad luck. The right type of cell acquires mutations at just the right time to eventually develop a cancer. Osteosarcoma is a rare disease. I am sorry your friend died of it.

Yes: It's not contagious. Your risk is very small but it could happen. I'm sorry about your friend. You live in a world in which something, sometime, will cause your death. You need to come to terms with this, and use whatever time you have wisely and well.
