My friend is worried about her reaction to ppd (tb) test. should she be concerned?

Too general : a question to be helpful. Is she concerned about induration that is palpable? An area of redness? Has she been in close contact wtih someone who has active tuberculosis? Does she have symptoms consistent with TB? I think that PPD tests are very important. TB has become a real problem in the US.
