A member asked:

My newborn is going for her 6 week injections tomorrow, should i give her panadol (acetaminophen) before her injections?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I wouldn't: There is really no good evidence that pre-medicating children with acetaminophen reduces pain of injection or prevents vaccine associated symptoms. Although a small dose of this medication is unlikely to cause any harm, waiting to see if she actually NEEDS the medication may be a more suitable option.
