Calcium deposits: A calcification is just the presence of an area on the scan that has the density of calcium. It usually means that area was injured in some way and the bodies response was to lay down this dense material. It is not a favorable finding, but the location and amount may point to a specific cause.

CT of head without contrast showed minimal atherosclerotic calcifications of the carotid siphons. Is this a predictor of a disease or should I be concerned and have another test performed? The CT was done due to prolonged headaches of 4 days?
