Tetanus up to date?: He needs to make sure his tetanus status is up to date. Puncture wounds can be complicated since they involve multiple layers and may actually involve the bone. He should be evaluated by a doctor to assess the wound and extent of the injury. Tendons and other vital structures should be evaluated and X-rays may be indicated to rule out any injury or infection of the underlying bone.
