Lip numbness: It could mean your diabetes isn't well-controlled yet or that the metformin you are taking is causing a B12 deficiency. It could also be a mild stroke or other neurologic problems. Please see your physician ASAP for a consultation to check your glucose, hemoglobin-A1C, B12, complete neurological exam to detect any mild deficits or Neuro referral
