May be TMJ: Your jaw joint (TMJ) may be inflammed. Eat soft food, no gum chewing, head pad to area, try anti-inflammatory like motrin. If persists, see your dentist or doctor.

A wide open yawn could strain your masseter muscle which causes pain and discomfort .A TMJ problem may also exist causing this sensation. Hot compress on cheek will help but if a true TMJ disorder than see a TMJ specialist.
