Depends: It depends on your history: what kind of thyroid cancer, the extent of your thyroid cancer, what kind of treatments had been done...Each clinical trial has specific sets of criteria you will need to meet to be accepted as a research subject. Check with the coordinator of the trial to see if you are appropriate for the trial.

Not sure: Depends on which thyroid cancer type: papillary, follicular, medullary, and undifferentiated carcinoma are all quite different tumors. In general, surgery with radioablative iodine is used for the first two, while other chemotherapy agents are used for medullary carcinoma. Clinical trials are available, but usually have strict entrance or acceptance criteria.
