No: Risk of tetanus is with a cut in the skin involving old rusted metal. On a separate note you should have a tetanus booster every 10 yrs or so anyways

Yes: Since the wound is deep and can be at risk for infection, I would advise having the tetanus booster. For adults, one tetanus booster is needed every 10 years per the ACIP guidelines.

Tetanus Shot: Need tetanus shot if you haven't had one in last 10 years, don't know when you last had one or if the wound is dirty & it has been more than 5 years since last shot.
