Yes: Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) can present in many ways. Some people do not experience the "typical" heartburn and regurgitation. They may have cough or get frequent pneumonia in severe cases. If cough is the main symptom it makes sense to start with your PCP or a pulmonary doctor. If either of them is concerned for reflux as a cause of your symptoms they will likely refer you to a GI doctor.
