HDL >50 goal: If you smoke, stop. Exercise regularly and attain and maintain a healthy weight. Eat a healthy diet with adequate amounts of lean protein and fruits and vegetables. Take fish oil 1000mg daily. That's about all you can do. No danger in conceiving with HDL 47. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

No. Your good.: An HDL of 47 for a young woman such as your self is not bad. That said, it is all dependent on risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Overall, a goal of 50 or above for woman is ideal but in the setting of low risk factors, lower numbers are probably fine. Also, this has little to do with pregnancy and that is not a concern. Exercise, diets low in saturated fat, higher in monosaturated fats help
