Benadryl (diphenhydramine): Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) or diphenylhydramine is an anti-histamine used to dry up runny noses, stop nausea, and induce sleep. It is safe even in small children, and may make you sleepy, allowing you to sleep off your headache. If your headache is due to allergy, this would be the right medication. If not, I would use ibuprofen or acetaminophen [tylenol] which are known to decrease headache pain.

Possibly: Many of my patients that have nausea with their headaches benefit from benadryl (diphenhydramine) with ibuprofen for their headaches. Thus, it may be worth a try. Make sure you are not pregnant. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids and eating a healthy diet. Getting in to see your physician for evaluation of your headaches would also be a good idea. Take care.
