Yes, safety first: It would be prudent to see a physician in an urgent care walk in clinic or ER, just in case it is something worse that influenza, for example. Try breathing into a paper bag until you can slow your breathing rate to normal. If you have shortness of breath that isn't related to anxiety about your illness, call 911.
