What is his pulse ox both at rest and with activity? This is important to know as he may require supplemental oxygen. He should see a lung doctor for adjustments in his medication as well as testing for the need for oxygen support. Oxygen support can alleviate the breathlessness sensation, if he qualifies. So, see a lung doctor ASAP. There are additional medications to try for symptom management.

Mild symptoms for 11 days. Mostly tired and achy whole time, no fever, mild sore throat 4 days, 2 days mild shortness of breath no congestion,1 day burning sensation while breathing, 2 days back of tongue was sore. Feeling better now, was this COVID?
Other than COPD, what would cause shortness of breath& pain w/breathing in, plus focal airspace disease on chest X-ray? No cough/fever/phlegm.
