Depends on your: age and co-morbid medical conditions. If you are otherwise healthy, do not smoke or drink to excess, and are 28 years old, it is most likely a viral upper respiratory infection that will subside in a week or so. At extremes of age and medical conditions that affect your immune system can make you more susceptible to serious infection.
