A member asked:

Is there a way to tell how deep basel cell is on the nose? looking for a doctor that can perform an ultrasound or similar to see how deep my bcc is on

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lesion superficial: Basal cell Ca are tumors of the basal layer of the dermis. They produce a superficial ulcer that heals with scab and then falls off to form new ulcer. Cant be determined by ultrasound. If small bx confirms basal cell Ca an approach on the nose initially is with the use of Efudex, (fluorouracil) a 5 FU cream. When applied, will in most cases form an erythematous area secondary to suppressor cell elimination.
