A member asked:

I got an endoscopy 3 days before and results antral gastritis and duodenities. when will this be completely cured?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gastritis: Gastritis and duodenitis are both excess acid changes. Aspirin and NASIDS can also do this. With acid blockers, like omeprazole or pantoprazole, healing is seen in 2 to 8 weeks. For sure 8 weeks, unless acid production is not blocked effectively. Do not smoke. Avoid alcohol. Avoid spicy foods. Minimize caffeine. Twice a day acid blocker is better than once a day til healed. Then once a day
