Limited issue: G-tubes tend to be quite well tolerated from a long term pain perspective.

Not much: Yes, some post-op pain that settles down quickly. The tube is inconvenient but you need it, right?Be sure you do.Then there's care of the tube. Make sure the skin doesn't get all messy, inspect daily, flush with water after the food is put in. Don't tug on it much. If it gets clogged for some reason and can't be flushed then it may have to be changed, which isn't too uncomfortable.

Usually no : After the initial post op pain (1-2weeks). G tubes are very well tolerated If you are having pain months after placement see your surgeon. There may be a problem ( infection, leak, etc )
