Weight loss: in an infant or toddler is worrisome. Are there other symptoms/explanations? Different scale? W/WO clothes or wet diaper? Diarrhea or other illness in the last few weeks? Is child able to take oral foods as well? 1000 calories sounds like a somewhat low calorie intake for 12.2 kg child, so supplementing with oral food or a higher calorie feeding would be first before looking for other causes

Caloric needs: The average caloric requirements for a growing 1-3 year old is approximately 100kcal/kg/day, more in those with higher metabolic demands as with chronic diseases. Volumes of feeds should be recalculated regularly (calorie density can be increased without increasing volume with supplements). Persistent weight loss in the face of adequate calories should prompt an evaluation for illness.
