No ear drainage asp-: -iration- The ear canals don't drain to the throat/mouth. Certainly any nasal/sinus drainage runs the risk of winding up in the lungs. Coughing is our body's way of attempting to keep the secretions formed in the back of the throat and sinuses out of the airways.
