I had the flu 5 weeks ago, which turned into pneumonia. two weeks ago i came down with a head cold. when i bend over i have a brown tinged liquid running out of my nose. it smells a little funky too. is this typical of a sinus infection?

I would be suspicious of a sinus infection since you had a head cold 2 weeks earlier and have lingering nasal discharge. Perhaps your physician would be willing to prescribe a course of an appropriate antibiotic.
