?Anxiety?: Persistent numbness of a lip in an otherwise healthy younger person with no other neurological symptoms is unlikely to turn out to be anything serious. When a person is somewhat stressed or anxious they will tend to worry if they feel something unusual. The more they worry about it the more persistent it becomes. A trip to the doctor will provide reassurance that nothing serious is is happening.
