7yr old has had a fever for 3 days with no other symptoms, what could be wrong? the highest it got was 102.3 and has stayed at 100 all day today.

Probably viral.: If the temperature is now hovering around 100 it is probably on the wane. Viral illness can last to about one week. If the entire symptoms are only temp and no other issues this is most likely viral. Treat with tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen as directed by the bottle direction. Best wishes. If this persists see the doctor

Fever causes...: The most common reason for fever at this age is a virus which usually is accompanied with cough, runny nose, malaise, sore throat, abdominal pain, among others. If no symptoms as you state a very common reason is a urinary tract infection. My advise is to take the child to urgent care for formal evaluation. If virus symptoms fluids and Tylenol (acetaminophen) for fever and should be better in a few days.
