See her doctor.: These are classic symptoms for a strep throat, but they also could be from an infection with a virus. The only way to tell is for her to be examined by her doctor and tested with a throat swab. They may be able to get the results within a few minutes and then if the test is positive, will treat her with an antibiotic. Sometimes, it is too early and a swab will be sent for an overnight culture.
