Hope this helps: Chest pain when coughing is very common and usually resolves shortly after the cough starts to improve. If there is no reason that your daughter can't have ibuprofen you could give her a dose to see if that at least takes the edge off the pain. If she is having difficulty breathing at all or if it hurts to breathe then she needs to be re-evaluated asap.
