If you're upset, yes: I don't know enough - what sort of surgery, etc. But YES, if you and/or he are worried, definitely it's okay. If you feel okay waiting till morning and asking his surgeon for opinion, that's okay too. But - you know how concerned you both are. Trust your decision.
