No relation: i doubt the two problems are related. you better go to the doctor and check for other sources of the black stools.

How much bleeding?: Ingesting blood can cause the stools to be black. GI bleeding can do this also. This color is a result of digested blood. Recurring black stools, especially those that smell foul, should be investigated by a physician.
