A member asked:

When an iud is expelled does it just spontaneously fall out, or does the uterus actively push it out?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IUD: IUD has a higher rate of being expelled if placed on an individual that has already expelled one, placed right after a termination of pregnancy, right after having had a baby or on a female with an inappropriate uterine cavity. The expelled rate is very low
