I had an iud put in three years ago, everything has been fine until this year. i have been experiencing frequent near unbearable pains in the right portion of my uterus. my boyfriend has said he felt something, and it hurt him. is something wrong?

IUD ?'s: IUD's can shift position due to uterine contractions , and become wedged into the cervical canal, which may be detectable with intercourse. See your gyn physician for an exam and a possible ultrasound. An IUD located in this position will not protect against pregnancy.
