Several hours: For immediate release xanax (alprazolam), (alprazolam) the peak blood levels are in the range of 1-2 hours. So I would probably wait on the order of at least 4 hours or more to prevent oversedation. Remember both xanax (alprazolam) and alcohol "depress" the central nervous system. And you never know how your body will respond, so I would consider testing out how your body responds prior to doing this on your wedding day!
