Sciatic pain: can be aggravated if it is acute by long walking. Once the pain is more tolerable walking can help you achieve a healthier weight and the pain may continue to improve. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Not necessarily: Being a strong advocate of exercise as a way of managing low back pain, would not forbid your walks, and in fact, you are to be praised for your tenacity. Keep it up, as unlikely you are doing anything bad, but instead are improving your physical fitness.
