Antacids: Ibuprofen is very irritating to the lining of the stomach. If a single dose of ibuprofen gives you significant heart burn you likely have some underlying gastritis, GERD, or ulcer disease. I would start with some over the counter antacids like omeprazole, and if it is not improving be evaluated by your physician. Avoid Ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin, alcohol, tea, coffee, and other acidic drinks.
