Could be infected: If they are swollen, painful bumps, they could be infected. They could have started as an insect bite or other irritation but may have a secondary infection now. Keep the skin clean and dry, cover the sores with a bandage, and prevent her from scratching or picking at them. See your doctor to see if medication is needed.
