Same thing?: They are almost the same thing. The narcotic is hydrocodone. (vicodin & norco). Taking too much of it, you put yourself at risk of potential side effects as with any narcotics, you have to take them exactly as your doctor prescribed. Not more without their consultation i would say it is a little atypical to be written for vicodin and Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) since they are almost the same.

Not recommended: The goal of pain management must be clear. Why you have to take both at the same time? Means one is not working, or breakthrough dose is low, problem is severe or you need maintenance dose or so on. Contact your doctor. Thanks.
