In choosing a GI specialist, find one with whom you feel comfortable fielding such questions as above. Discuss frankly options (step-up versus top-down therapy). Control: If your Crohn's is under good control, you shouldn't be having flare-ups. Your doctor might want to rethink your medication regimen to prevent you from getting flare ups in the first place.
