I have a pt w/crohn's disease who recently underwent seeding for prostate ca; his crohn's is now ragingly flared up &resisting all tx-any experience?

Brachytherapy: Radioactice seed implant into the prostate for prostate cancer can result in significant proctitis and flaring of chron's symptoms. Depending on the isotope used, it likely will be 3 or 4 months before the radiation irritation to the bowel subsides. Can't halt the radiation effects like you can with external beam tx.
