Rhogam or micrhogam (rho immune globulin) injection during pregnancy, what is this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antibodies: If some of baby's blood enters the mother's blood stream and the infant is Rh + from the father and the mother is Rh -, then mother will make antibodies against babies blood that cross the placenta and destroy infant's blood causing anemia before birth and jaundice after birth. RhoGam is an antibody the destroys baby's blood in mom's circulation before she can recognize it. It works!
