Both : can be connected: your anxiety could make your senses much more sensitive and the smells is just not agreeing with your system. The very same psycho-physiologic response happens on the positive with aroma therapy. In fact RUSH University has a leading expert on this subject. Basically a bit of trial and error with more natural aromas is not unreasonable. Talk with your therapist about this.
