A member asked:

I have several ovarycysts.gyn did'nt see them, us.but detected many with ct!can they determine what kind by ct? for how long does broken cysts hurt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pelvic Pain: If i understand question, small ovarian cysts not found by gyn or ultrasound, seldom are of any consequence. Ct usually can not differentiate type of ovarian cysts and usually recommend a sono to differentiate. A"ruptured" ovarian cyst can cause transient pelvic pain. Ovulation each month (releasing an egg) is a smaller version of same thing, rupture of a small cyst. This may be normal.
